Brief: Countryside in the city, comfortable seating, outdoor dining, lawn for play, abundant planting, biodiversity, year-round seasonal interest

The client had expanded their outdoor space and sought a complete redesign as part of a wider home renovation. They envisioned a garden that felt like a countryside retreat, despite being in the heart of central London. We introduced distinct zones: an outdoor dining area near the kitchen, a relaxing seating space that catches the best of the sunlight, and a lawn and wildlife pond for the children. A unique feature is the outdoor fireplace, crafted from an Edwardian piece salvaged during the building work. With layered, seasonal planting and pollinator-friendly species, we created a space that draws nature into the space and gives the client year-round beauty, no matter what the weather.
