About Gresham & Finch

There is something transformative about stepping into a garden that feels as though it has always belonged.

A garden where the planting settles softly around you. Where structure and looseness coexist. Where the noise of the city fades into birdsong and shifting leaves.

Gresham & Finch was founded on the belief that urban gardens need not feel urban at all.

Gresham & Finch was founded by Sarah Mellor in 2018.

Before training as a garden designer, Sarah built a career in Learning & Development, Occupational Psychology and leadership coaching at the professional services firm EY and the John Lewis Partnership.

Sarah trained at the English Gardening School based at Chelsea Physic Garden under the legendary Rosemary Alexander, graduating with distinction.

Her work is guided by a love of the English landscape and she brings that into every project she works on, combining a creative sense of space and layout with layered planting to encourage biodiversity and interest for every season.

At the heart of every project is collaboration.

Understanding how you use your home, what draws you outdoors, how you entertain and where you find stillness allows each garden to feel deeply personal. The aim is not to impose a signature style, but to create a landscape that feels entirely in tune with your lifestyle.

And perhaps most importantly — a place that brings joy, season after season.
